One life down, eight to go for one soggy moggy!

Against all the odds we were so pleased to be able to save little 8-week old Gollum, who endured a full cycle in the washing machine after hiding amongst the dirty laundry. Her horrified owner found her drenched and unconscious inside the drum as she emptied out the washing, before rushing her straight down to Sandhole.

Poor Gollum was so cold, and had so much fluid around her lungs, that it took 45 minutes before we could register a temperature. The team of vets and nurses then worked for another hour to slowly and safely raise her temperature back to normal. After careful monitoring we were able to send her home that evening, where her relieved owner now checks the washing very carefully every time! Read two news articles on the story here and here.
