Katrina is currently off on maternity leave after having her daughter Emily in January 2016.
Having qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 2006, I went straight into small animal practice in Devon. However, being Kent-born, it wasn't long before I moved back to the South East to be closer to family. Between 2009 and 2014 I worked at small animal practices in East Grinstead and Sevenoaks before joining Sandhole.
Here I am often referred to as the "bug lady", having a particular interest in infectious diseases and enjoying peering at things down a microscope! I am currently working towards the RCVS advanced certificate in veterinary public health.
Though very much a cat lady (sharing my home with three - Salem, Moomin and Figaro), I do strongly believe you can be a fully-fledged dog person at the same time, and so I substitute not having my own dog with cuddling my canine patients instead!
In my spare time, I am a member of the Kent Chamber Choir and The Knole Singers, trying my hand at various instruments including the piano and violin. I am also training towards a brown belt in shotokan Karate, in and amongst being a new mum!
