Somewhat unusually, I completed a three-year degree in Animal Science at the University of Nottingham prior to attending the Royal Veterinary College in London. I have worked at the Sandhole Veterinary Centre since 1992, initially as a veterinary assistant and nurse and now as a veterinary surgeon and the practice owner.

Whilst I enjoy all aspects of veterinary medicine, I do have a special interest in cardiology and imaging. As a holder of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Certificate in Veterinary Cardiology, I regularly see and investigate heart disease in both dogs and cats. As well as working with heart patients belonging to our own clients, I also see more complicated cases as referrals from other veterinary practices. (There's more information in our cardiology section if you'd like more details).

As the practice owner, I'm passionate about offering the pets we care for access to the very best and latest clinical expertise. As such I actively encourage the whole team to continually develop their skills and knowledge from the cutting edge of veterinary medicine.

On any days off, I love road cycling, single-track mountain biking and golf.
