AmyRegistered Veterinary Nurse

I have been horse-mad since I was a child, and always wanted to work with animals. After obtaining my degree in Animal Science in 2011, I went on to work as a veterinary receptionist before training as a Vet Nurse in a 24-hour emergency clinic, qualifying in September 2015. My next role involved teaching Animal Care, Welfare and Vet Nursing at Solihull College, alongside my nursing.

January 2017 was the start of the most exciting chapter yet, as I joined Sandhole! I am so glad to have found a practice that shares my beliefs and values; the Sandhole team is totally committed to ensuring consistently excellent standards of care and minimising patient stress. I particularly enjoy taking care of inpatients and making sure they are as comfortable as possible (plenty of TLC during a hospital stay is very important!) I also have a keen interest in wound management.

In my spare time I can be found riding and caring for my Irish sports horse Tabitha. I also have two rescue cats – one was previously feral, very nervous and has ongoing health problems, so I truly understand the needs of nervous animals and enjoy making their Sandhole experience as easy as possible.
